Places of Interest:

There are many walking tracks for you to stretch your legs in and around Devonport. Try out the walk to the Mersey Bluff (The Bluff) Lighthouse. Standing at the mouth of the Mersey River it is easily accessible approx 3.5 kilometres west of Devonport. The lighthouse has a distinctive vertical red striped day and stands on top of the bluff. The establishment of this lighthouse helped end a history of wrecks for this region.

Not too far away you can visit the Tiagarra Aboriginal Culture Centre and Museum – providing an insight into Tasmanian Aboriginal lifestyle, culture and traditions.

For those looking to appreciate the local wines from the area we recommend you head off to Barringwood Estate (15 km south) towards Cradle Mountain. The Cellar Door offer complimentary tastings of cool climate varieties of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and more recently the varieties of Pinot Gris and Pinot Meunier. 

For the younger children and adults too - a must stop is Turners Beach Berry Patch. Sample selections of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and more. Hand pick your own berries or enjoy the famous ice creams. All day breakfast menu and pancakes also on offer.

Ashgrove Cheese Factory and Store located at 6173 Bass Highway, Elizabeth Town. Sample the creamy ice-cream, fresh milk, cheese and all the wonderful dairy delights.  Be sure to taste the locally roasted and brewed coffee made with award winning farm milk.
